Contractors & Builders

The following contractors and builders have asked to be named on this list and will work in Stinson Beach. The Stinson Beach County Water District does not endorse any contractors or builders listed and makes no recommendations or referrals.

Before hiring any contractor or builder, whether on this list or not, the owner should ensure that the contractor or builder has a valid and up-to-date contractor’s license for performing work on onsite wastewater disposal systems [General Engineering (A), Plumbing Contractor (C-36), Sanitation System (C-42)], Marin County business license, proof of insurance or contractor’s bond, and proof of workers’ compensation insurance (if appropriate). Owners can check the worker’s status at https://www.cslb.ca.gov/OnlineServices/CheckLicenseII/CheckLicense.aspx

The purpose of this list is to assist the property owner in finding a contractor or maintenance repair worker.

Licensed Plumbers

The following contractors are familiar with the Rules and Regulations of the District. The District cannot provide recommendations and suggests that customers check references before entering into a contract. The purpose of this list is to assist the property owner in finding and repairing water leaks, or installing a backflow prevention device.

Pumping Contractors

The following pumping contractors are licensed with the Stinson Beach County Water District and are familiar with the Rules and Regulations of the District. The District cannot provide recommendations and suggests that District customers check references before entering into a contract. The purpose of this list is to assist the property owner in finding a pumping contractor.

Each contractor has supplied the District with proof of the following:

  • Appropriate license for performing work on onsite wastewater disposal systems
  • Marin County business license
  • Proof of insurance or contractor’s bond
  • Proof of worker’s compensation insurance (if applicable)

OWTS Service Providers

The following OWTS service providers have asked to be named on this list and will work in Stinson Beach. The Stinson Beach County Water District does not endorse any maintenance worker or contractor and makes no recommendations or referrals.

Before hiring any OWTS service provider, whether on this list or not, the owner should ensure that the worker has a valid and up-to-date contractor’s license for performing work on onsite wastewater disposal systems [General Engineering (A), Plumbing Contractor (C-36), Sanitation System (C-42)], Marin County business license, proof of insurance or contractor’s bond, and proof of workers’ compensation insurance (if appropriate). Wastewater System Consulting Design Engineers

The following consulting design engineers have onsite wastewater treatment system design experience in Marin County, are familiar with the District's Title IV - Onsite Wastewater Management Code, and have requested to be placed on this referral list. The District cannot provide recommendations and suggests that District customers check references before entering into a contract. The purpose of this list is to assist the property owner in finding a consulting design engineer.

All onsite wastewater treatment systems must be designed by a Civil Engineer licensed in the State of California.

Certified Backflow Prevention Device Testers

The following contractors, maintenance repair workers, and Stinson Beach County Water District Staff are familiar with the Rules and Regulations of the Stinson Beach County Water District as regards the installation, testing, maintenance, and Code compliance of cross-control devices (backflow prevention devices.) The District cannot provide recommendations and suggests the District customers check references before entering into a contract. Each list tester has provided the District with proof of AWWA (American Water Works Association) certification and certification of the testing equipment. Any other AWWA-certified tester with appropriate certification documents filed with the District may be hired to perform work in the Stinson Beach Area. The only purpose of this list is to assist the property owner in finding a tester.
