By the time you see this newsletter, you should have received a copy of the District’s Annual Water Quality Report.  This document is intended to provide you with a simplified and understandable summary of the drinking water quality provided to you here in Stinson Beach.  It also is reflective of the significant water quality testing we perform every day to ensure that your drinking water is not just safe to drink, but has the highest quality possible.  As your local public water provider, we take pride in delivering water that meets or exceeds all drinking water standards set by the state and federal governments.  Additionally, the District is committed to making prudent capital investments that ensure a reliable, well-maintained system that delivers high quality water to our customers at all times.

We frequently test your drinking water and make regular treatment process improvements, as required by State and Federal Regulations, to keep it among the best in the country.  In fact, the District conducts over 500 chemical and bacteriological tests annually.  This report summarizes the results of this monitoring for the period from January 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024.

Drinking water regulations are categorized into primary and secondary standards.  Primary standards relate to public health issues; secondary standards relate to aesthetic qualities such as taste, odor and color.  We are proud to report that the District continues to have no water quality violations in 2024.

This report contains all pertinent information relating to the water quality of your drinking water here in Stinson Beach, and is provided in cooperation with the State Water Resources Control Board, Division of Drinking Water.  The District delivers a safe and reliable supply of high-quality drinking water, which meets or exceeds all federal and state standards.

Stinson ARC Initiative Final Report Release

The Stinson Beach Adaptation & Resilience Collaboration (ARC) initiative, led by Marin County Community Development Agency in coordination with the Stinson Beach Community, was undertaken to assist the community in understanding its vulnerability to sea level rise and the range of steps that can be taken to increase resilience to coastal hazards today and over the longer term.

The final report from this initiative has now been released and is intended to serve as a resource and guide for our community. It does not provide a prescriptive adaptation plan, but rather a framework for identifying, evaluating, and implementing potential sea level rise adaptation projects.

While the County will continue to support the community by offering guidance and resources, it is not able to lead individual adaptation projects on behalf of the community.

Sea level rise adaptation at Stinson Beach will require leadership and active participation at the local community level. This approach ensures that the adaptation is community-driven and reflects the unique needs and priorities of Stinson Beach residents.
