As we step into 2026, we want to extend our sincere appreciation for your continued support and trust. This past year was filled with meaningful progress, new opportunities, and shared successes—and none of it would have been possible without customers like you.

Looking ahead, we’re excited to deliver even more value through pragmatic solutions, dedicated support, and a commitment to improve our level of service, increase transparency, and improve both efficiency and efficacy of our services.

On behalf of the Board and staff, we hope that this New Year brings you and your family and abundance of peace, joy, and prosperity.

New Payment Processor for Water Bills

The District’s current third-party billing vendor, Munibilling, will soon be switching to a new and improved payment processor to provide our customers with a smoother and more secure billing experience.  What you need to know:

You do NOT need to take any action for your January bill.Your current payment method will still be processed normally.

  • Starting in February, customers enrolled in AutoPay will need to re-enroll in AutoPay, as the new processor requires a fresh authorization. Re-enrolling in AutoPay prior to 2/1/26 is premature and will require you to re-enroll  again after 2/1/26.
  • The sign-up process will look the same as it does today — simply log in and set up AutoPay as you normally would.
  • If you do not use AutoPay, no further action is required on your part. Please continue to pay your bill as you do now.

Annual Recology Rate Increase

Picture4

Per the current Franchise Agreement adopted by the District in January 2023, Recology is allowed to increase annual rates based on their actual cost of service using the Refuse Rate Index (RRI) methodology described in the Agreement.  These increases are capped at the limits specified in the Agreement and as indicated in our Prop 218 notification.  This Agreement is available for review at the District office, or by requesting a copy at info@stinsonwater.org.

Recology will be raising their rates by 2.8%, starting on February 1, 2026.  Below is a summary of their planned rate increase:

Excessive Water Use Explained

Excessive water use is defined as the use of more water than is necessary, which can lead to higher water bills and depleted resources. Using too much water negatively impacts public health and equal access to water supplies.

Stinson Water takes this misuse seriously, beginning with our Board of Directors, who review detailed reports of excessive water use every month. The excessive use roster is not a Top Ten list that anyone wants to join.

Causes of excessive water use range from leaking toilets, faucets and irrigation systems; the filling or topping off of swimming pools; continuously cycling water softeners; visitors unfamiliar with drought conditions; and particularly the overwatering of landscaping, including the use of non-native plants requiring lots of water.
